HOME NEWS TRIBUNE TOP 10
1. St. Joseph (10-0): Swept their first trip through the Red Division by nearly 20 ppg
2. Linden (6-3): The best team in the state you don't hear much about
3. Rutgers Prep (9-2): Mike Klinger is out for a week with a broken nose
4. North Brunswick (8-2): Showdown with McCarrick tonight to take over GMC White
5. East Brunswick (8-3): Is a CJ IV crown out of reach?
6. South Brunswick (8-3): Could be putting it all together at the turn of the schedule
7. Cardinal McCarrick (9-2): Can grab inside track for the GMC White with win tonight
8. Bishop Ahr (6-4): No Salva, no problem. Dropped an 81-spot without their big man
9. Piscataway (6-6): Pretty soon, talent usually produces; see NYG
10. Rahway (9-0): Hakeen Kornegay can run the wildcat and the point guard position
Also considered: Monroe (8-3), Carteret (9-2), Piscataway Tech (7-3), Timothy Christian (10-1).
The breakdown: Seven of the top 10 have a decent chance at winning a sectional title. St. Joe's looks poised to grab that elusive state title, and there's a bit of a drop off after the top seed for a fifth-straight week. The CN area might be a little bit more loaded at the top (Plainfield and Gill), but the HNT area -- I believe runs a little deeper this year.
